Each evening, a community group hosts the Welcome Table. Volunteers from the group welcome visitors to the garden, encourage them to sign up for our email newsletter and perhaps make a donation, and give out FREE hot chocolate (provided by the Untermyer Gardens Conservancy)! Children must be age 10 or older to participate as a volunteer. Scout troops should be accompanied by 3 adults per shift.
This year, Illumination runs every evening from December 8 through January 1, and is open free to the public from 4:30 until 8:00 p.m. We ask for at least 4 people to staff the Welcome Table at all times, and many groups find it convenient to organize their members into two shifts, from 4:15-6:15 p.m. and 6:15-8:15 p.m. If you don't have enough group members to staff an evening, you can staff shift with 4-6 people for the evening.
We especially need volunteer groups between Christmas Eve and New Year's Day.
Sign up by clicking an available shift below. If you're registering for a group but don’t have all the volunteer names yet, simply select "+ Add" under your own information for each spot to fill the shift. You can update the names later. For now, label them as "Volunteer One," "Volunteer Two," and so on until you have added all the group members for the shift.
